LAIF: A Logging and Interaction Framework for Gaze- Based Interfaces in Virtual Entertainment Environments
نویسندگان
چکیده
Eye tracking is starting to be used for evaluation and interaction in virtual environments. Especially digital games can benefit from an integrated approach, using eye tracking technology for analysis and interaction. One benefit is faster development of gaze interaction games, which can be automatically evaluated in iterative development cycles. For this purpose, we present a framework of programming libraries that enables rapid game development and gameplay analysis within an experimental research environment. The framework presented here is extensible for different kinds of logging (e.g., psychophysiological and in-game behavioral data) and facilitates studies using eye-tracking technology in digital entertainment environments. An experimental study using gaze-only interaction in a digital game is presented and highlights the framework’s capacity to create games and evaluate novel entertainment interfaces. Cite as Nacke, L. Human Computer Interaction Using Vision-Based Hand Gesture Recognition
With the rapid emergence of 3D applications and virtual environments in computer systems; the need for a new type of interaction device arises. This is because the traditional devices such as mouse, keyboard, and joystick become inefficient and cumbersome within these virtual environments. In other words, evolution of user interfaces shapes the change in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In...

متن کاملGaze as a Supplementary Modality for Interacting with Ambient Intelligence Environments
We present our current research on the implementation of gaze as an efficient and usable pointing modality supplementary to speech, for interacting with augmented objects in our daily environment or large displays, especially immersive virtual reality environments, such as reality centres and caves. We are also addressing issues relating to the use of gaze as the main interaction input modality...
متن کاملA New Trust Model for B2C E-Commerce Based on 3D User Interfaces
Lack of trust is one of the key bottle necks in e-commerce development. Nowadays many advanced technologies are trying to address the trust issues in e-commerce. One among them suggests using suitable user interfaces. This paper investigates the functionality and capabilities of 3D graphical user interfaces in regard to trust building in the customers of next generation of B2C e-commerce websit...
متن کاملLooking at 3D User Interfaces
In this position paper for the ACM CHI 2012 Workshop on "The 3rd Dimension of CHI (3DCHI): Touching and Designing 3D User Interfaces", we describe our vision on how the interaction with virtual 3D interfaces may benefit from integrating gaze input. On the one hand, 3D UIs can profit by diagnostic eye tracking studies on how users perceive presented content. On the other hand, the consideration ...
